Asbestos is group of minerals defined by being a fiberous rock, if you look at it under a microscope you’ll think your looking at a sheet of fabric!

Asbestos itself was never actually banned, the 1981 ban was only for spray on and surfacing asbestos material like popcorn ceilings.

Humans still have not found an alternative to the powerhouse that is asbestos, with it still being integral to fireproofing building materials and managing heat from pipes or tanks

Asbestos is nothing to fear as long as you know what your dealing with. Like dust, asbestos isn’t a problem as long as it isn’t disturbed, and for most materials its very hard to disturb it.

The two terms to describe how much it can be disturbed is called friable and non-friable, these refer to a potential ACM or asbestos containing material being able to be broken apart by hand or not.

so if you suspect something contains asbestos, make sure to know how much disturbance the material experiences and if it is easy to break apart (but please don’t put yourself in potential danger and physically break apart a material)

Mold is a tricky little organic, anywhere moist and warm it will find and grow, this can be in your air conditioning, under the washer, bathrooms, sinks, and its favorite place, you. 

With how prevalent mold is, making sure your not affected by it is very important. You can do home remedies and tests, but if you still suspect there is an outbreak in your home we do recommend a test.
